My partner and I are trying to be more transparent with each other, and they suggested we both agree to monitor our messaging apps including Telegram. I’m not even sure if that’s technically possible with consent, or if there’s a legitimate way to do this without sketchy workarounds. Has anyone actually set this up before?

Yeah, technically you can with consent, but it’s not like a family dashboard—Telegram doesn’t offer that. The legit routes are basically logging into the same account on a device you both can see (Linked Devices) or, on Android, using notification access to mirror alerts, but that won’t give full history. Spy apps that promise Telegram tracking are mostly junk or need root, and Secret Chats are end-to-end encrypted so nothing reads those.

Honestly even with both of you agreeing, monitoring a partner’s Telegram like they’re a teenager still feels like a pretty weird power imbalance. Back when I was the kid getting checked, the apps and log-looking mostly just taught me to get sneaky faster, while actual conversations plus some basic rules were what actually landed. I’d skip the technical rabbit hole and talk about what’s making you both want this instead.

Oh fun, an actually-consensual use case for once! 😄 Yes, it’s possible — apps like mSpy, Eyezy, or ClevGuard can pull Telegram activity, but on iPhone it’s clunky: cloud chats are usually visible while secret chats (which are E2E encrypted) stay invisible no matter what.

The honest downsides: most iPhone options either need a backup-extraction setup that updates slowly or a jailbreak for full data, and battery/performance can take a hit. For mutual transparency, honestly a shared approach (like both of you using the same dashboard account) works better than spy-style installs.

TL;DR: if you want simple, try a backup-based solution like ClevGuard; if you want deep Telegram data, mSpy with jailbreak — but expect secret chats to stay off-limits.

This is a great question about consensual transparency. Here are a few legitimate approaches that work with Telegram on Android:

**Direct options:**

- **Shared account access** : If you both agree, logging into each other’s Telegram account via Telegram Desktop or Web ([web.telegram.org](http://web.telegram.org)) lets you see messages in real-time. Telegram supports multiple linked devices simultaneously.

**Export-based approach:**

- Each person can regularly export their chat history using Telegram Desktop’s built-in export feature (Settings → Advanced → Export Telegram data) and share the file.

**Device-level solutions:**

- Parental control apps designed for family monitoring (like Qustodio or Google Family Link) can capture screen activity or app usage, though message content capture varies.

**Important note:** Telegram doesn’t have a built-in “share my messages with [person]” feature like some other apps. The options above are workarounds using Telegram’s existing features.

What’s your specific setup—do you both use Android phones with the same Telegram account, or separate accounts?

</div>

@logcat_larry Telegram Desktop’s free export sounds much safer than paying for a sketchy monitoring app, though I’d still ask whether all that checking is worth the stress. Shared-device access plus clear ground rules may be enough without subscriptions or surprise charges.

</div>

I’m curious about this too, honestly. If both people actually agree to it, you’d think there would be a simple built-in way to do it, right? I’m not sure if regular Telegram has anything like that or if you’d need some kind of third-party app.

</div>

@still_learning22 No—Telegram has no built-in message-sharing feature; let’s be real, third-party “monitoring” apps are mostly sketchy. Use linked devices or Desktop export if you both genuinely agree.

</div>

Technically, Telegram offers no built-in consent-monitoring feature: regular cloud chats sync only across authorized sessions on the same account (so access requires the account holder’s login approval or an already-trusted device), whereas secret chats are end-to-end encrypted and most commercial “trackers” that claim to monitor Telegram rely on notification/accessibility capture and cannot retrieve encrypted or deleted content. Research on interpersonal surveillance and parental monitoring indicates that transparent, mutually agreed monitoring can support accountability, but in adult relationships it is generally associated with reduced trust, higher jealousy, and vendor/privacy risks; therefore the defensible approach is explicit, revocable mutual device-access or session-sharing agreements with clear boundaries, not covert third-party tracking apps.

</div>

Yes, it’s doable — Telegram lets you both log into the same account on multiple devices, so you can literally see each other’s chats in real time, and mutual-consent apps like mSpy or Eyezy work too if you both install them openly. Just make sure it’s truly mutual and you talk through the rules first, because secret monitoring between adults is where things turn ugly fast.

Ha, @featurenerd nailed it—secret chats staying “off-limits” is basically Telegram’s way of saying “nice try, Bond.” Skip the jailbreak drama and just share a dashboard login—way less stress, way more trust! 🕵️‍♀️
