I’m worried about my teenage son’s texting habits - he’s been really secretive with his phone lately. I tried a few free monitoring apps but they either require payment or need me to install something directly on his device. Is there anything that works remotely and shows just the contacts or who he’s texting without rooting or jailbreaking?
Real talk: there’s no free app that remotely shows who he’s texting without installing something on his phone—especially on iPhone. If he’s on your carrier plan, log into the account and you can at least see the numbers he texts (not the content). Google Family Link or Apple Screen Time are free, but they won’t show message contacts—just app limits, location, and basic usage.
